How well can you predict your death?

Death, it is something that all people know is coming someday, any day in the future. Most people are born, work 30 to 40 years, retire, and soon after that die. Some people die unexpectedly at an early age due to cancer or some other disease. Some people die at the hands of another who took their life. The question is, do you know when your time will be up? It would be strange if we knew the way we would die, or the place we would die, or who would kill us, if we were to be murdered. We do not have the benefit of knowing the future. There was a man who did know the future, and He predicted His death down to the smallest detail.

This Man predicted that He would be betrayed. He predicted who would betray Him. He predicted who would bring charges against Him. He predicted what the verdict would be. He predicted His friends would deny Him. He predicted He would be handed over to the gentiles. He predicted they would mock, spit, flog, and kill Him. He predicted He would rise in three days. His enemies knew these predictions so they placed guards around His tomb. This man who predicted these thing was Jesus Christ. As we know by being just humans, that we cannot predict our death. Jesus Christ was more the a person. He was God in human flesh. His predictions prove this. If you do not know Him yet, place your faith in Him today.

Something to get us thinking

On this posting I am going to post part of a letter written by Ben Stein. If you don't know who he is, he put together the movie Expelled which helped shine a light on the Evolution vs. Intelligent Design madness. It showed how Doctors, Scientist, and Teachers are losing their jobs because they are simply following the evidence to where it leads. We were all created by an Intelligent Designer, not an explosion! He made these comments on the CBS morning show.

Ben Stein: "I am a Jew, and every single one of my ancestors was Jewish. And it does not bother me even a little bit when people call those beautiful lit up, bejeweled trees, Christmas trees. I don't feel threatened. I don't feel discriminated against. That's what they are, Christmas trees.

It doesn't bother me a bit when people say, 'Merry Christmas' to me. I don't think they are slighting me or getting ready to put me in a ghetto. In fact, I kind of like it. I don't like getting pushed around for being a Jew, and I don't think Christians like getting pushed around for being Christians. I think people who believe in God are sick and tired of getting pushed around, period. I have no idea where the concept came from, that America is an explicitly atheist country. I can't find it in the Constitution and I don't like it being shoved down my throat.

Billy Graham's daughter was interviewed on the Early Show and Jane Clayson asked her ' How could God let something like Hurricane Katrina happen?' She said, ' I believe God is deeply saddened by this, just as we are, but for years we've been telling God to get out of our schools, to get out of our government and to get out of our lives. And being a gentleman He is, I believe He has calmly backed out. How can we expect God to give us His blessing and His protection if we demand He leave us alone?'

In light of recent events...terrorists attack, school shootings, etc. I think it started when Madeline Murray O'Hare ( who was murdered a few years ago) complained she didn't want prayer in our schools, and we said OK. Then someone said you better not read the bible in school. The Bible that says thou shalt not kill, steal, etc. And we said OK.

Then Dr. Ben Spock said we shouldn't spank our children when they misbehave, because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr. Spock's son committed suicide). We said an expert should know what he's talking about. And we said OK.

Now we're asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don't know right from wrong, and why it doesn't bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves.

Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it out!

Pay as you go promises

As I look at the dropping dollar, and the growing deficit, and our nearly 13 trillion dollar debt; I look back to a time of wonderful promises. Our "Saviour" president told us that he would go line by line in our budget and cut the programs that don't work. He signed an executive order for "Pay as you go". He told us if he spent a dollar, that he would cut a dollar. Well, we can see that this is not happening. I guess that proves the strength of the "Executive Order" -hello Bart Stupack!

Obama signed an executive order that the new Health care legislation would not pay for abortion. Now it is funding abortion in Pennsylvania and soon to be every state. I guess we should have put that in plain language in the bill, "no funding for any type of murdering of babies in the womb from conception to their first breath"! Simple as that!

Promises, promises, promises! I don't know about you but I am tired of being lied to by politician after politician! When are the American People going to wake up?
