Stand up!

When Minister Joe Wright was asked to open the new session of the Kansas Senate, everyone was expecting the usual generalities, but this is what they heard:
Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, "Woe to those who call evil good," but that is exactly what we have done.
We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values....
We have exploited the poor and called it lottery...
We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare...
We have killed our unborn and called it choice...
We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable...
We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem.....
We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition...
We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression....
We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment...
Search us, Oh, God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and set us free. Amen!
Several members of the senate walked out during the prayer in protest. The church has received over 5,000 phone calls with only 47 responding negatively. The church is now getting requests for a copy of the prayer from India, Africa, and Korea. This one pastor took a stand. I think it is time for the rest of America to stand up too!

Detroit- An American Sob Story

The 1950's were a great time for the city of Detroit. Times were great. Things looked like they could only get better. People were moving into the city. The population grew to 1.8 Million people. Then something happened. Hmmmm. What was it? Now we have not one of America's top ten cities. We have America's worst city. The population now is under 900 thousand. People can't leave the city fast enough. The murder rate is 5.16 times the national average. The arson rate is 6.34 times the national average. Times are not good for the once great city of Detroit. I think its time for a change but the people of Detroit keep voting the exact same way. Its like they are slaves to their party. Why? It has only made things worse and worse.

The last great Republican mayor of Detroit was Albert Cobo from 1950 to 1957. I read in the Detroit Free press this Sunday, that Detroit's congressional seats will always go Democratic. Well, if thats the case then why even have elections anymore! Just keep on voting the big government, big entitlement, no moral, democrats into office and things will continue to get worse. Its time for Change, Detroit! Vote Republican!

Christianity vs. Other Religions

Most Christians around the world just got done celebrating Easter. Easter for those who don't know is the day of Jesus' resurrection from the dead. Every other religion: Islam, Buddism, Hindu's, have had "prophets" of their religion. The difference between the other religions and Christianity, is that our leader is no longer in the grave. Our leader has beaten death. Death could not keep its hold on Jesus, because he is the creator of the world and was without sin. He is the one true God, the only God. If you are still skeptical, read the accounts written about Jesus' resurrection. No one knows where his body went. The Jews even made up a lie that the disciples came and stole Jesus' body. Don't you think if the Jews found his body, they would've showed it to everyone to disprove this resurrection "theory". Why didn't the soldiers keep his body from being stolen? Why did the Jews tell the soldiers to make up that story that they were sleeping? If they were all sleeping (doubtful because they would have face death from a superior officer) wouldn't the soldiers of awoke when the disciples moved the stone! His body was not there! He rose from the dead! He is the one true God!
